Castelbuono and Cefalù
Meeting with the staff and the rest of the group at the selected meeting point and departure to Castelbuono, a small medieval borgo located in the Madonie Park with a delightful and well-preserved historic center that fascinates from the first moment. The town develops around the castle of Ventimiglia, near a Byzantine hamlet called Ypsigro, and walking through its alleys is like entering another dimension.
Upon arrival, stop at a small pastry shop to taste the famous Sicilian panettone, a typical Christmas sweet of Milanese origins, revised in a Sicilian key, with particular attention to the flavors of the earth and respect for the rhythms of nature.
Later transfer to Cefalù, a wonderful city located on the northern coast of Sicily and one of the major tourist attractions in the region. Built on a promontory dominated by an overhanging cliff, Cefalù, still preserving its ancient mark, grew around the Cathedral built by Roger II. The cathedral, dating back to 1131, is one of the most interesting medieval monuments on the island and boasts splendid mosaics and a wonderful cloister.
A walk through the medieval streets to admire the picturesque houses by the sea and the long beach of fine sand.
At the end of the tour return to Palermo.
