Food and Wine, Nature
Do not miss this tasting tour in a beautiful private estate belonging to a noble family of Palermo, the Licata Princes of Baucina of the nineteenth century, a few hours from Palermo in the Madonie. This full-day tour is ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in the Sicilian countryside and taste traditional cheeses a stone’s throw from the city of Palermo.
You will be welcomed by the hosts who will tell you about the origins of the family and the Masseria and in their company you will visit the baglio and the historical archive of the family. Then with the farmer you will reach the area adjacent to the winery to meet the animals that live on the farm and you can watch the milking of the goats to collect milk and produce ricotta. Afterwards you can enjoy a genuine lunch with farm and local products.
After lunch you can choose to relax on the lawn in the sun or in front of the fireplace in case of a cloudy day, or take a walk in the forest owned by the family, where if you are lucky you can come across a close encounter with the many deer that populate the Madonie Park.
