Villa Idda – Between the slopes of Etna and the blue sea – Acireale

Villa Idda is located on the eastern coast of Sicily, between Catania and Taormina, near Acireale, in that stretch of coast where mythology tells that Polyphemus, now blind by the hand of Ulysses, launched the great rocks that, arrived at the sea, created what today are the “Faraglioni of Cyclops in the small town of Acitrezza.

Villa Idda, nestled among the orange trees on the sea and at the foot of the Etna volcano, is the result of a brilliant renovation of an old rural house. Unusual and alternative solutions for the management of volumes and interior spaces. The villa is divided into two units connected by common and nice outdoor areas.

The first “body” of the Villa is a large, bright and panoramic open-space on different levels, one for the large and comfortable kitchen with dining area, from which three steps lead to the conversation and music area, separated by an architectural structure that it divides the further relaxation area and TV. A bathroom with a shower completes the floor.
Through an exposed concrete staircase, you can access the large mezzanine where the bedroom is located with private bathroom and an office space.
This body of the villa have very high ceilings and glass walls that allow a 360° view from any corner of the house.
The outdoor areas, very pleasant and cared in detail have a dining, conversation and relax area that surround the entire structure.

The second body of the villa is characterized by black volcanic stone exteriors. A large open-space with kitchen, living room with fireplace and conversation area where, divided by a series of curtains, there is an alcove with a double bed and a bathroom with shower. From the kitchen area, you can enter to the bedroom characterized by a large walk-in closet, in which a bathtub dug into the floor is an element of furniture absolutely usable; the room also has a bathroom with a private shower.
The double bedroom communicates with a single room for children, and a games room with a ping-pong table.
A staircase connects to the study lounge which leads to the outdoor area, covered and furnished with a large chaise longue table and finished furniture, a place of conjunction with the first body.
The large garden with various furnished areas allows you to have different corners of privacy that offer different views, and alternating between the Mount Etna and the sea.
A small swimming pool (7 x 4mt) in an extremely panoramic position and 2 outdoor showers complete the charm of Villa Idda.
